Edward C. Skelly, CLU®, ChFC®, RFC®, President and Founder of Sterling Financial Partners understands that every client has specific situations and needs. We view our role that is one to help you make well-informed decisions about your investments, insurance, retirement plans and personal finances.

Our strategies focus on optimizing returns and lowering volatility. We offer access to services of many of the country’s leading investment management firms. These firms execute the investment strategies that we design for you. This relationship allows Sterling Financial Partners to provide comprehensive quarterly performance reports, detailed tax information and high levels of advice and service at a reasonable cost.  

Our clients are primarily business owners, self-employed professionals and key employees of major corporations. They are financially successful, experienced, and prudent investors with an average net worth of $1,500,000, and investable assets of $250,000.

While each of our clients is different, they all have one thing in common: they want unbiased financial and investment advice from experienced professionals. Our clients look to Sterling Financial Partners to help preserve their capital and provide real growth in their portfolios after taxes and inflation. They have worked hard for their money and want us to help preserve and enhance their financial independence.

Our Approach 

When you start working with Sterling Financial Partners we become your Personal Chief Financial Officer. We have the knowledge, resources and people to coordinate all of your financial affairs. Sterling Financial Partners has developed strategic alliances with key professionals who can handle your estate planning, retirement planning, even your tax planning. We believe the synergy created by professionals working together as a team is much greater than you could receive by working with any one of us inpidually.

Unlike many stockbrokers, we are an independent firm with no proprietary investment products to sell. Our approach is different—we believe planners offer value in two ways to a client – in planning and in implementation. We recommend that all new clients complete a Comprehensive Financial Plan. Comprehensive financial plans are also recommended in years of extraordinary life events such as termination, retirement, marriage, divorce and death. Ongoing financial planning services are dictated by indvidual circumstances. For this planning stage, the client is charged One-Time Fee, Mutually agreed upon, in advance and in writing. The fee is based upon the complexity of your situation and the amount of time required to evaluate the information and prepare your plan.

Because of our fee structure—which varies depending on portfolio size, type of assets, management style, and your needs—our interests are aligned with yours. When you prosper, we prosper. But when you suffer, we suffer, too.  

Our Investment Process

Before we begin developing your investment strategy, we take time to understand your unique situation and goals. We assess your investment assets, income, age, aspirations, and risk tolerance.

Then, we develop a customized Investment Policy Statement—a blueprint that guides us as we allocate your assets and manage your investments over time. Asset allocation is the process of dividing investment portfolios into different investment categories. We use a scientific process that focuses on maximizing your expected return for a specific level of risk. But our interest in your success doesn’t stop there. Once your strategy is established, we carefully monitor its progress, providing you with quarterly reports that summarize your portfolio activity. We make periodic adjustments to ensure that our strategies stay on track with your goals.

To assist you during the Implementation Phase of your Investment Plan we provide clients services to help you organize, simplify and manage your finances, provide you with unlimited phone support to answer your questions and address your problems. For the implementation phase, the client is charged a Quarterly fee, automatically billed to your investment account. The fee is mutually agreed upon, in advance and in writing. Typically based upon a percentage of the total assets being managed, and reduced proportionately with increasing account size.
